Rosebowl Flea Market

Rosebowl+Flea+Market

On the second Sunday of every month, the Rose Bowl Stadium hosts a Flea Market known as the “Flea Market of the Stars” with over 2,500 vendors selling crafts, special antiques, vintage artwork and clothing, and lots of small businesses.

The next Flea Market is the 12th of this month, but if you can’t do that Sunday, there are many more to come. These events have been occurring for over 50 years, and still happen through rain and bad weather (whether people show up or not.)
Food vendors are also available for eating lunch and snacks, as well as drinks and deserts. The flea market is outside the stadium and in the parking lots, so wear sunscreen and bring water during the summer months! You cannot buy tickets in person, you have to buy them online and have your qr code open when you enter.

You can show up when your ticket says you can, but if you’re like most people, the earliest you can get out of the house is around 9-10 a.m. However, you can not show up after 3 pm, so if you are a late riser, you might have to rush to get there on time. You can stay until 4:30 pm, but most vendors pack up around 3 pm.
Tips: the later you stay, the better deals you can get, because bargaining is fair play, especially with furniture because vendors don’t want to lug their furniture back in their car and back home. Jewelry tables have a lot of junk, but you can find some really good deals, ranging from $1-$5 most of the time. (Except for the occasional stubborn vendor that knows their items’ worth.) If you’re going to buy furniture at the Flea Market, bring a large car. It sounds like common knowledge, but the last thing you want is to have to come back for it in another car. If you break something, you buy it. Be careful handling antiques.

Go with someone else, shopping is always better with a friend, and you’ll need help carrying whatever you bought home. Bring cash. Most small businesses have Venmo, Zelle, and other cash apps, but antique vendors most likely don’t. Depending on what you plan on buying, don’t bring your wallet, just cash.
