Wellness Tip 4
This week is Red Ribbon Week, about staying off drugs. So our Wellness tip is about drugs. Drugs cause lots of mental and physical harm, especially to teenagers and young adults. One of its direct effects on teens is brain damage, such as memory loss. Drugs on teens can cause serious mental disorders and permanent damage to the brain and nervous system. Teenagers who abuse drugs that involve needles have an increased risk of diseases such as HIV, AIDS, and Hepatitis B and C. Drug abuse can also cause mental health problems such as schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, mood swings, and even suicidal thoughts. Drugs are very dangerous in general, but especially for teenagers. So during Red Ribbon Week and beyond remember: Say no to drugs!
