Many people were upset because Beyoncé won Album of the Year over Billie, saying Billie’s album was more popular than Beyoncé’s. Billie wrote all her songs alongside her brother Finneas, while Beyoncé had around 70 writers for her album. Another debatable moment was when Kendrick Lamar won five Grammys for his song “Not Like Us”, a diss track towards Drake. Some Drake fans were upset that a diss track against Drake won.
Overall, the Grammys were an eventful program that 15.4 million Americans watched this year alone. Many artists and people of The Academy were celebrated this year for their tremendous accomplishments. While some fans were left upset, artists were still recognized this year for their work. The ceremony also raised money for Los Angeles residents who lost their homes during the Eaton, Palisades, and Malibu fires. They raised about 120 million dollars to support those who lost their properties during the fires.
