On April 10, 2025, Rosemont’s boys soccer team managed a draw against the Toll Titans in an exciting game, with a score of 1-1. The game took place on the upper field with a kickoff time of around 3:40PM.
Students and parents streamed into the upper field bleachers to watch the second boys soccer game of the season. At the previous match, Rosemont played away at Roosevelt Middle School, where they crushed the Rough Riders 5-0.
In the first five minutes of the game, both sides were active on offense, taking turns shooting. Rosemont took two shots on target while Toll took one, with plenty others that were not on goal. Kayden Lee had a great opportunity to score, but was called offsides.
Later, Rio Choi had a similar opportunity, but the through ball was collected by the opposing goalkeeper before he could get a shot off.
As the half went on, Toll’s attack became more potent and Rosemont’s defense had to deal with shot after shot. Around the 30th minute, the Titans even managed to get a shot on a nearly wide open goal, with the effort going wide. A few minutes later, though, a shot off the crossbar that rebounded back to Toll was converted by a bottom corner shot that barely passed the goalkeeper.
The halftime score was 1-0, Toll.
The start of the second half proved to be an entirely different game, and suddenly the Spartans were putting the pressure on Toll. Ten minutes in (50th minute), Rosemont winger Jayden Chae received a pass on the left wing, took a few touches to beat his defender, and shot from the top of the box. The ball went into the top corner of the net in one of the, no glaze, best goals I have ever seen. It tied the game 1-1.
The second half did not boast nearly as much action as the rest of the game. Both sides had equal opportunities and both goalkeepers made some good saves as well.
With the game over, Rosemont looks forward to keeping an undefeated record through the first half of the season. Their next game will be at home, on April 17, against Wilson.
