The Lego club meets in Mr. Lombardi’s room at lunch on Thursdays. This club is for students who love to play with Legos. Mr. Lombardi has boxes of Legos that students can organize and build. They can release their creative mindset in this club.
Since the club started on Sept. 12, many students have attended, finding a way to do something they love at home in school.
Brody Lomond, a 7th grader at Rosemont, says, “[I love this club because] I get to be with friends, trade mini-figures, and just be around legos!”
Mr. Lombardi, the leader and host of this club, is a new science teacher at Rosemont. He used to work at Wilson but switched over this year.
Mr. Lombardi spoke briefly about his popular club. “[I want to] bring Lego folks together and work on their Lego and engineering skills.”
Legos can teach people many things. According to Marianne Spoon, a journalist from HowStuffWorks, lego blocks “encourage problem-solving, creativity, and an understanding of basic engineering principles”.
Students’ interests in school can lead to a real career, and clubs at Rosemont can help them find their passions. The Lego Club can be a lot of fun, but also teaches students building strategies. Students who want to join should come to Mr. Lombardi’s room at lunch this Thursday!
