Los Angeles, California – Fans are left disappointed by the boxing fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, due to the streaming qualities, “rigged and scripted,” and the weak punches by Mike Tyson that did not live up to the hype. The fight took place at Arlington, Texas, in the AT&T Stadium.
Jake “Joseph” Paul, who was born Jan. 17, 1997, is an American professional boxer, influencer, and actor. He was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He has gotten into boxing recently, with the first brawl against Deji, who he had knocked out in the 6th round. On the other hand, Michael Gerard Tyson is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005.
“Rigged and scripted. I just stopped watching it after the 4th Round. The quality was even worse than the fight,” said Ade, a seventh grader, after the upsetting fight from the two boxers. “Every minute, there would be at least two pauses. And I had to restart the app most of the time. Honestly, the women’s fight before was more entertaining.”
The fight was streamed only on Netflix and had about 60 million households worldwide watching, including hundreds of Rosemont students, because of the brawl of two big names, with the unstoppable “Iron” Mike Tyson against the young upcoming Jake Paul.
The fans were also disappointed with the price of the tickets, and as the tickets started to decrease, the cost started to increase. Even as the price was growing, the tickets reportedly sold out. Also, the tickets for the fight cost about $78 to sit on the upper deck. Floor seats cost as much as $32,392 on Vividseats, with one of the tickets selling for a staggering $2 Million, reportedly sold to a Los Angeles-based injury law firm called Torklaw.
“I feel bad for the people who paid for the tickets, especially the expensive ones,” said 8th grader Alex, shocked by how boring the fight was.
After the fight, Jake Paul has his sights set on a busy 2025 in combat sports, with plans to take on Canelo Alvarez and make his MMA debut, while Mike Tyson is doubting whether he should continue. Will Tyson continue his boxing career or will he stop?
