The holiday season is here, and many people are selecting festive christmas movies to watch. Home Alone is a movie franchise that has been a tradition for many families. The movie starring a younger Macaulay Culkin, has been a hit for multiple decades, and has had many sequels. In this movie Kevin the youngest of the family, and the family are going on a trip to Miami, Florida on vacation for christmas. As usual Kevin and Buzz, his older brother, are fighting. After a while, Kevin is mad at the family and is sent to the third floor to sleep. In the morning the McCalisters late as usual get in the car and are at the airport. After getting lost at the airport Kevin thinks his dad got on the plane, but it was actually someone else. Kevin ends up in New York instead of Miami. This movie shows many landmarks that Kevin visits in New York, including The Plaza Hotel, where Donald Trump made his infamous cameo. The bandits from the first movie came back and are know in New York and I love how they escaped although being very low IQ. Many people think this movie is very funny, Yevah Hovsepian, “I believe that Home Alone 2 is a hilarious movie.”
When I first watched it I was very little, and I saw the wonderful city of New York unfold throught the movie. This movie is an absolute masterpiece, which many consider better than the original, including myself. It has more of a christmas feel, and in my opinion shows the best parts of the great city its in. The scenery like I have said before is beautiful, you see landmarks like the original World Trade Center, and the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as places in China town, and the parks of the city. At the time in 1992, Culkin was 12 years old and a rising actor. He landed movie roles like Richie Rich which was also a thrill, because of his Home Alone movies making him popular. Many people also believe that Home Alone 2 is one of the best movies for the holidays. Chloe Lara said Home Alone 2 is ,”One of my favorite christmas movie, I love it.” This movie is an absolute classic and will be watched and remembered for decades and christmas’s to come.
