On Friday, February 9th, there was a CJSF meeting in the amphitheater, from 3:20 to 3:40. CJSF, the California Junior Scholarship Federation, is a program offered to middle schoolers with good citizenship and high grades to get community service hours and show and promote outstanding citizenship. Most members of CJSF attended the meeting, along with Mrs. Avery, Ms. Kracker, and five CJSF staff members. In this meeting, Ms. Kracker and Mrs. Avery explained in more detail about the events listed on a yellow Attendance Card. Ms. Kracker also explained the mandatory Love for Camp Kesem Fundraiser, which would raise money for children who have a parent who died or is undergoing treatment for cancer. Other events include writing positive post-it notes for teachers, typing up a research paragraph about a charity, and buying polar bear products to support the PB International Charity. There was also a fundraiser for bikes, and they would be donated to families in need. The promoter of the event brought a dog, which students were welcomed to pet after the meeting. The CJSF members are excited to embark on this exciting journey.
