Rosemont Night was on September 29, 2023. This was a night when Rosemont the Rosemont Band and the Rosemont Color Guard was invited to perform and join along with the CV Band and Color Guard. The day before Rosemont Night, Rosemont Color Guard and Rosemont Band went to practice at CV High School. Color Guard was taught the new move that they would perform during Rosemont Night. They were taught by CV’s Color Guard team, which was pretty cool! Band practiced their instruments with the CV Band. Practice was 5-7 PM. People performing in the halftime show also practiced their routine on CV High School’s football field.
The next day, which was the day of the football game, Rosemont Color Guard and Band went to CV at 4:30 PM, checked in, and piled into buses along with the CV Band and Color Guard. The Football Game was held at Glendale High School. It was a home game for the CV Falcons. Color Guard and Band arrived early and practiced again. It was CV vs. Glendale High School. (Ironically, CV’s home game was not held at CV High School.) Then, at 6:45 PM, Color Guard went out on the field with the Band marching right behind them. Band played the National Anthem, which sounded magnificent with all of the different wind instruments playing in harmony. Overall, the football game was a lot of fun, but many Band and Color Guard people were hungry, because they were not allowed to eat on the bleachers. The band played many songs, including I’m Still Standing, Shut up and Dance, YMCA, and Mighty Falcons. There were also a lot of fun and silly cheers. Halftime show was great, with Color Guard dancing. Their steps were a little like ballet steps. Even though CV High School lost in a humiliating defeat of 34 to 6, it was still a fun experience for all of the Rosemont students that went.
