After WB(Warner Brothers) kept trying to make Superman more and more dark and brutish like Batman they finally gave us hope that they would start to do that when My Adventures With Superman came out.
Jack Quaid who is known for the hit TV show The Boys adds a fresh take on Superman in this show. Alice Lee and Ishmel Sahid add a fresh take to Lois and Jimmy and have them be more than just emotional support. Each episode has Superman get one of his iconic superpowers. This show also proves that general audiences will watch a Boy Scout Superman and that he doesn’t have to kill every villain he faces. Speaking of villains, this show decides to use more underused Superman villains like Mr. Mxyzptlk and Parasite along with other DC villains like Deathstroke and Heatwave. This show also references other DC characters like Doctor Fate, Batman, Green Arrow, and Hawkman to name a couple. This show gets a bit cheesy at times, but that’s bound to happen in a Superman show since he was a firefighter with powers until recently. I also hoped there would be a mention of another superhero by name like Flash or Batman since there is a part in the show where some other superhero should’ve shown up in Metropolis. Still, since they didn’t I hope this show is a lot like the 2004 Batman series where the first couple of seasons is about the main and supporting characters and then the later seasons introduce other characters to build the world.
Overall My Adventures With Superman did amazing. The show added new fun twists to characters and set up characters like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and Zod. My final score for My Adventures With Superman is a 9.5/10 since there was very little they could improve on and will probably improve on it. If James Gunn’s Superman Legacy is anything like this, it will be a guaranteed hit.

About the Contributor
Elhaan Khan was born in Reno, Nevada in 2009. Though being born in the USA, Elhaan spent his toddler years in Bangladesh where most of his family is. When he was three years old he and his family moved to America where he would spend the rest of his school life. When he came here the first movie he saw was Guardians of the Galaxy, making one of the first memories he has of a talking space raccoon. In the past ten years, he has participated in a class play, learned how to play both the piano and guitar, found a love for sci-fi and horror movies, started reading a lot more adult comic books like Last Ronin and Invincible, etc. I look forward to covering stories for the Spartan Scroll.
