During English class, you probably got an announcement from your teacher about a fundraiser for Syria and Turkey. As you may have heard, Syria and Turkey have been hit by massive 7.8 magnitude earthquakes this past month. The earthquakes have been devastating, they have killed thousands, and have caused damages of 84 billion dollars. Mrs. Kracker wanted to help, so she found the Doctors Without Borders foundation. The Doctors Without Borders foundation is a non government organization that sends doctors to areas of disaster, like Syria. I still had questions so I asked Mrs. Kracker some, one of them being “How much money would you like to raise in total?” She answered with “My classroom goal was $400–Mrs. Kracker’s Kids raised over $1,000. Ms. Avery’s and Mrs. Monaco’s classes did as well.” “Wow! What giving students we have here at Rosemont! It is great that the kids at Rosemount are so generous and kind!” After this I asked “How would the MSF program help the people of Syria?” She responded with “MSF has supported 38 hospitals and health facilities in Idlib, Azaz, Afrin, Mare, Bab al-Hawa, and other towns in northwestern Syria with donations of emergency kits, trauma kits, medical supplies, laboratory equipment, medicines, laboratory and medical consumables, and blankets.” “The MSF program sounds great and I hope we can fund and support the program more!” The last question I asked was “Why did you decide to fund the MSF program rather than others?” Mrs. Kracker answered “MSF helps everyone! They also have representatives and doctors in Syria and we knew they needed funds immediately.”  If you would like to donate, anything helps, this is the link to their website:https://www.msf.org/.
