RMS Girls Soccer Had an Undefeated Season – Can They Do It Again?
As the 22-23 season begins, fans wonder if the RMS Girls Soccer team can live up to last year’s high standards.
This team took soccer to an entirely new level! This team was none other than the 2021-2022 girls’ soccer team. These girls won every single game they played, even when they were struggling they fought hard together and ended up triumphing. With constant dedication and hard work, they were able to successfully sweep the games against the strong athletes of other middle schools such as Toll, Wilson, and Roosevelt middle schools.
Coach Kevin is again going to be coaching this year’s girl soccer team. Growing up, playing, and watching soccer for over 25 years, his goal with the team is to spread the love and enjoyment of the game. Mostly focusing on hard work, and teamwork, Coach Kevin is expecting to have another great year of soccer with the new 7th graders, and returning 8th graders coming in to play. Talking about what worked for him, Coach Kevin said, “The best thing about the whole team was they all were a great group of girls, had a great attitude, and loved playing together.” The group’s connection was the main reason why the team worked so well together, they all understood each other and all had the common goal of enjoying soccer. In an interview with one of the girls who played on the soccer team last year, she quoted, “I would say that the coach really values integrity and honesty and kindness, he wants everyone to be a big family.”
This soccer team’s goal is to have fun playing and set the athletes up to play at a higher, more competitive level, once they reach high school. These girls had practice two days a week and had a game once a week. They worked tirelessly to become the best they could be, which paid off. Kaia, an 8th grader who’s going into her second year playing on the Rosemont soccer team, told us, “I love soccer, and getting to represent my school is a really cool experience that I loved last year and want to do again.” The soccer teams at other schools are tough teams, who play just as strong as our Rosemont athletes. These girls are dedicated and devoted to their love and enjoyment of soccer. We’re expecting to see another great year from our players, Go Spartans!
