Harry Potter Club Review
By Elliot Deyto
On Monday at lunch, Ms. Kache’s classroom transforms into a magical experience for anyone who loves Harry Potter, movies, or bored individuals awaiting a good movie to watch during lunch time.
The bell rings as a handful of students dash towards the Harry Potter club to socialize and learn about the phenomenal world of Harry Potter. Many people were interested in what takes place during this club, so I went towards the Harry Potter Club during lunch time.
When I walked across the cold atmosphere of the halls, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming people of the club. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was playing with a cheerful scene of everybody celebrating, the students ate their lunch as they watched and talked about Harry Potter. Mason Kim, an eighth grader part of this club, says, “This is a good place to make new friends and watch Harry Potter…You mainly watch Harry potter.” This club is extremely easy to go to, and its location is perfect.
As you walk into the main building all you have to do is take a singular right turn and then a left turn into Ms. Mori’s classroom, room 1202. The club location is right near the bathroom, so when you need to use it, all you have to do is easily breeze through the hallway and walk straight back as if nothing happened. The club exceeded my expectations as it was extremely fun to check out. Titus Park, a seventh grader who attends the Harry Potter club regularly, says, “I joined this club because I enjoy Harry Potter…It is a good opportunity to learn about Harry Potter.” The fun and social activities that the Harry Potter club brings outweighs the inferior cons, but some students say that there needs to be some improvement.
“However, it needs to have more activities other than watching Harry Potter,” Titus concludes. Many think there should be more activities that are more interactive. Mason Kim agrees with Titus, saying, “[It] needs more interactive stuff other than just watching Harry Potter.” During my personal experience of the club, I mainly talked with people and socialized while watching Harry Potter, because there were not many other activities to do than that.
Personally, I would add extremely interactive experiences like playing Harry Potter games or a Harry Potter ‘Quiz Off,’ where the last contestant would win a Harry Potter related prize like a plushie. Titus wants to add interactive activities such as Harry Potter trivia, saying, “Harry Potter trivia would give people something to do other than watching the movies and allow people to share what they know about Harry Potter…It would definitely allow people to socialize in the club easier.”
All in all, Harry Potter club is a preeminent, magical experience where all people can enjoy, learn, socialize, and watch Harry Potter. Although the welcoming and warm atmosphere of Harry Potter brings joy, it needs improvements such as having more interactive experiences for students to do such as Harry Potter Trivia, Harry Potter games, and more. The club’s people are extremely jolly and the teacher is very welcoming. If you’re considering joining the Harry Potter club because you are bored and want to watch Harry Potter, want to socialize, or welcome themselves to the magical experience, the Harry Potter club is for you.
